Burley Jr High Student Council
What is the Student Council?
The Burley Jr. High has a student government, which is a great way for students to be involved in school and plan activities to make the school year amazing! It is open to anyone who wants to join; there is a council for each grade at the school.
What does the student council do?
In the student council, you will plan activities, assemblies, school activities, and dances. It is a lot of fun for students and a good way to meet new people.
The Rules
The student council operates a bit differently than at other schools. When trying to get votes, giving things away to persuade votes is not allowed at Burley Jr. High. You can only hang up 35 pages of election posters that are 8.5 by 11 inches. You can't hang them on glass or painted surfaces. The flyers must be appropriate, should not have stickers or stamps on them, and all flyers with pictures and wording must follow school rules, which means adhering to the dress code. If you choose to post an advertisement on private accounts, keep it positive. Additionally, you should have a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher and must participate in sponsored school activities.
How does the student council work?
During elections, the 8th-grade student with the most votes becomes the student body president, and the second highest becomes the vice president. The same applies to the 7th-grade council. If you want to be in the student body, you must submit 5-10 awards or accomplishments from your life.
