CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will help guide patients in health education, perform ordered tests, and assist Physicians in providing care. Testing may include urinalysis, any CLIA-waved clinical testing, performing venipuncture for lab specimens, performing spirometry, audiometry and ECG’s. Duties may include cast removal, wound dressing application and removal, ear irrigation, etc. The Program consists of two semesters. The first semester will walk you through skills that a Medical Assistant usually performs daily in the clinic. During the second semester, you will complete up to 100 hours in a clinical setting, while learning how to perform front office (admin.) work as well.
