Industrial Welding
Our Welding Program is part of the Idaho Career and Technical Education's Trades and Industry program field. The full program is two years: 2 credits per semester (8-credits total) where Welding I is 2 credits, Welding II is 2 credits, and Welding III is 4 credits. It differs from the typical Ag Welding because it is industry focused and intended for students who are considering welding as a career, or who may want to continue in welding to post secondary. The program also differs from Ag Welding because it is dual Credit through College of Southern Idaho. In addition, students learn shop and welding safety, operation of a wide variety of shop equipment including but not limited to metal shears, metal breaks, rollers, drill press, CNC plasma tables, iron workers, band-saws, cold saws, chop saws, grinders, oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, pipe bevellers, tubing benders, and various other power and hand tools. Welding is a wide career field with applications ranging from Fabrication, Repair and maintenance, Pipeline construction, Process piping, and Sanitary stainless, to Aluminum, Structural steel, and others. Welding careers include Welding engineering, Weld inspection, Fabricator, Maintenance Technician, Structural Welder, Pipeline Welder, and a myriad of self-employment careers in all of the above and more such as mobile repair, Ag piping, and ornamental construction and fabrication.
